Company history

1961
Atsushi Kawase established “Chukyo Hamono Kabushikigaisya” in Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya City. Began manufacturing woodworking tools (electric high-speed steel groove cutter, etc.).
1970
Established “Toyoake Factory” in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, and began manufacturing router bits for electric power tools.
1975
Began manufacturing and sales of tools made of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PcBN) targeting the metal cutting industry.
1990
Changed company name to the current “Chukyo Co., Ltd.”
2000
The founder, Atsushi Kawase, became the chairman, and Yukihisa Kawase became the president.
2002
Expanded business in China and Thailand.
Established “Chukyo Diamond Tools (Dalian) Co., Ltd.” and “Chukyo Thailand Co., Ltd.”
2003
Built a new company office building of Chukyo Diamond Tools (Dalian) Co., Ltd. in the same development zone.
Installed polishing equipment in Chukyo Thailand and began offering re-polishing service.
2004
Participated in the establishment of a multinational joint project called “PT. AZ TECS Indonesia” in Cikarang, Indonesia.
2006
Japanese head office acquired ISO9001:2000 certification.
2007
Moved the office of Cyukyo Thailand to Bangkok.
2008
Moved the location of PT. AZ TECS Indonesia.
2009
Established a representative office in Shanghai, China (moved to Wuxi in 2011).
Established a representative office in Guangzhou, China.
2010
Made investments in the facilities to increase manufacturing and sales of rotary tools.
2014
Relocated Chukyo Thailand to expand sales in Southeast Asia and made capital investments.
