1961

Atsushi Kawase established “Chukyo Cutting Tools Co., Ltd.” in Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya-shi, and started the production of woodworking tools (such as electric high-speed steel grooving cutters).

1970

Established “Toyoake Factory” in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, and started the manufacturing of router bits for electric tools.

1975

Started the manufacturing and sale of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PcBN) tools in the metal cutting industry.

1990

Changed the corporate name to the current “Chukyo Co., Ltd.”

2000

The founder, Atsushi Kawase, became Chairperson, and Yukihisa Kawase was appointed as Director and President.

2002

Business expansion into China and Thailand, established “Chukyo Diamond Tools (Dalian) Co., Ltd.” and “Chukyo Thailand Co., Ltd.”

2003

Constructed a new building of Chukyo Diamond Tools (Dalian) Co., Ltd. in the Dalian Development Area, and installed grinding equipment at Chukyo Thailand Co., Ltd. to launch a re-grinding service.

2004

Participated in the establishment of “PT. AZ Tecs Indonesia,” a multilateral joint venture business, in Cikarang, the Republic of Indonesia.

2006

Head Office in Japan acquired the “ISO9001:2000” certification.

2007

Chukyo Thailand relocated to Bangkok.

2008

PT. AZ Tecs Indonesia relocated.

2009

Opened representative offices in Shanghai, China (relocated to Wuxi in 2011) and Guangzhou, China.

2010

Invested in the extension of facilities due to the expansion in the manufacturing and sale of rotary tools.

2014

Relocated Chukyo Thailand and conducted capital investment in step with the expansion of sale in Southeast Asia.

2019

The Senior Managing Director Toshihiro Kawase was appointed as Director and President. Yukihisa Kawase, the former President, assumed a post as Board’s Chair.

2022

Fully renovated “Toyoake Factory,” the manufacturing base in Kariya City, and started operation.
